The Minimum Wage series was an attempt to make a piece that could be sold at the price of a full day’s shift while being paid minimum wage. At the time this work was made that was $120. Formally the pieces are all 8.5”x11”, purposely the size of printer paper, and comprised mostly of transfers made on an office printer. The content itself came from the surroundings of the Service Worker. Strip malls, fast food joints, as well as imagery of violence and consumption. Ultimately the work was a reaction to a professional life defined by a nihilistic, meaningless labor. 2021-2023.
